Wilder Poetry

From the front cover to the back and every page in between, it is the prettiest little book I have ever held. The gorgeous pages are filled with short and dynamic verse creating a beautifully illustrated poetry collection. If you have not read Wilder Poetry, I highly suggest you do. I first borrowed this book with Kindle Unlimited and immediately, I wanted to own a copy to carry with me always. When I purchased the book, I received the kindle edition for free.

It is a very small book and fits nicely in my bag. I tote it around everywhere. It is just something I enjoy looking at and the words are incredibly moving.

Nocturnal is a collection of words and imagery inspired by darkened skies and sleepless nights. It is a journey of healing and self-discovery whether love stays or leaves. it is dreaming with your eyes wide open while the rest of the world is hiding.

and when they ask me,
are you afraid of the dark?
i will remind them that
there’s nothing to fear
when the night is a reason
we can see how honest
everything shines
while the rest of the world
is hiding.

How it made me feel.

It is completely comforting. The same feeling as snuggling in a blanket on a chilly night. Sometimes I can not sleep and the thoughts that go on in my head are not reasonable or sensible, to probably anyone but myself. These poems give a nod to those night dreams and visions. Reading these poems was a lot like turning on a light in the dark. Even with a light, the dark still empowers and over shadows everything. The darkness is there but the light makes it tolerable. The absolute beauty of this book made me want to stay safely snuggled in my blanket, in the night and in these pages.
